Until recently I have focused building ivory grips due to its durability and unique look. Stag while beautiful, often had significant marrow on the back side that prevented it from being a durable 1911 grip and I refuse to sell grips that cannot be left on the pistol while out in the field or on the practice range. Now I have found Red Sambar Stag that is thick enough to produce a durable set of 1911 grips. Stag offers that classic look that many pistols owners love. It's old world look harkens back to the day of WWI and WWII. Listed below is some beautiful full size 1911 grips in Sambar Stag. COMMENTS: Grips have a nice brown textured bark, from head to toe, over strong whites and as a result these will look good on a black or blue pistol or even add a whole new look to a stainless. Also perfect for a WWII / 1911A1 period piece. I had been holding off for years doing anything with Stag until I found material solid enough to hold up to every day use. COMMENTS: These are a classic example of stag grips that came from a mature set of antlers. Dark chocolate browns, 3-dimensional whites, and extremely durable, are words that best describe these grips. Could match up well to a jigged bone knife. Nice companion to any black traditional 1911A1 pistol, but also a nice option to give your pistol a whole new look. I had been holding off for years doing anything with Stag until I found material solid enough to hold up to every day use. If they should ever break I will replace them for free.
